Hey Ho, Nobody Home

A large scale-piece made of a simple idea: a three-part round which is both interspersed with and overlaid by various instrumental and choral groups. At the end all of the groups join together. The piece was to form the climax of a concert that consisted of disparate instrumental groups. Though the work was never eventually performed (and needs some finessing if it ever were to be), the ideas within it led to subsequent works, especially my songs and incidental music for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Instrumentation:

Orchestra (2fl, cl, asax, tsax, bn, 2tp, 2tb, 1btb, tu, eu, dr.k, gt, b.gt, str), SATB choir, 3-part treble choir, classroom keyboards and percussion
